Continuing Education for School-Based Therapists
Learn how to help improve your student’s school experiences with continuing education courses from ERI. Our courses will give you the knowledge and credentials to better serve your students and help you advance in your career. Some additional benefits of our school-based therapy CEUs (continuing education courses) include:
- Maintaining your license: Many states require school-based therapists such as Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Special Educators, Social Workers and Psychologists to complete continuing education courses to renew or maintain their license or certification. By completing your continuing education courses through ERI, you have the option to complete courses on your own time to continue doing the job you love.
- Staying updated on new clinical knowledge or skills: We frequently update our courses to reflect the latest clinical knowledge and skills. These advancements help us keep our courses fresh and engaging while you gain updated resources to help you provide better care for your patients and make informed decisions.
- Receiving specialization certifications: Many specialized certifications require CEU courses to help further expand your knowledge and skillsets. We offer courses in various subjects to allow you to gain and maintain your license and specialization certifications.
School-Based Continuing Education Courses for OTs, PTs and SLPs
At ERI, we understand that you want to provide the best possible care for your students. This aspiration is why we design our school-based occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech-language pathology continuing education courses to provide as much value as possible. With the ability to connect with your peers and other field specialists, you will gain access to connections and resources to further your career and quality of care.
CEUs for school-based therapists are especially important, as you have the opportunity to meet and impact dozens of new lives every year. As you continue to strengthen old skills and develop new ones, you’ll become even more effective in your position and gain the knowledge necessary to connect with students dealing with a range of challenges. And since ERI offers online CEUs for school-based therapists, you can continue making a difference during the day and use your evenings and free time to advance in our courses.
Our School-Based Continuing Education Course Options for Therapists
Whether you are looking for a live learning experience or would like to take courses on your own time, we have the course options to meet your needs. Our two virtual school-based continuing education course options for physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists can accommodate even the busiest of schedules.
Live Webinars
Our live webinars are open to anyone, anywhere. As long as you have a working internet connection, you can join one of our live learning experiences from anywhere in the world. These classes combine the engagement of a live learning experience with the convenience of a virtual format. Before the webinar session, we will send you an email with the Zoom link for easy access.
After completing the webinar, all participants will receive a CEU certificate on their ERI account dashboard. Participants can download and print this certificate whenever they wish.
On-Demand Courses
Start and stop our on-demand courses on your schedule. Our pre-recorded classes are engaging and feature a presentation and a question–and–answer session from an industry expert. We also include a handout to help you follow along with the course.
Our on-demand courses are a flexible solution for busy professionals. We give all participants a year to finish the class and pass the post test at the end of the course to eliminate any time crunch.
In-Person Courses
We also offer a hands-on learning experience with in-person courses. By combining labs, videos and lectures, we allow you to practice your skills in an engaging environment. Throughout the course, you will receive regular feedback from a specialist.
While taking our in-person courses, you can also work with peers who have similar passions and make valuable connections like the ones that made ERI a reality.

The Benefits of ERI
Over 30 years ago, ERI was founded by therapists, for therapists. The ERI staff knows better than anyone the unique challenges you face as a practitioner seeking supplementary education because they have been there, too. The founders, Barbara Goldfarb and Carol Loria, recognized there was a better way to learn than exchanging information among themselves, and from there, ERI was born.
ERI’s exceptional faculty consists of nearly 200 internationally recognized clinicians. Every teacher in our more than 300 CEU courses is a dedicated lifelong learner committed to developing your knowledge and reigniting your passion for the work you do. Our in-depth resources and hands-on learning opportunities allow you to gain transferrable skills you can take straight out of the classroom and into the office, where you can begin changing lives immediately.
