Liliane Savard

DPT, PT

Dr. Liliane Savard is a board-certified pediatric physical therapist specialist from Montpelier, Vermont. She practiced in out-patient and in-patient neuro-rehabilitation in Quebec and California before moving to the North East. There she worked in private practice and for school districts in New Hamphire and Vermont. Dr. Savard earned a B.S. in Physical Therapy from University of Montreal and completed a tDPT from Rocky Mountain University of Health Profession. After completing a graduate certificate in Disability Studies and a Leadership in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) fellowship at the University of Vermont (UVM), she joined the Clinical and Translational Sciences program at UVM where she is currently a PhD candidate.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Savard has been dedicated to developing interprofessional collaborations for research and practice in the field of autism and has presented nationally on the topic of motor learning in autism, her primary research focus. Together with Vermont researchers in the field of autism, she has co-authored a book chapter on promoting recreation for children with autism, published two peer reviewed articles and launched the UVM Autism Collaborative.

Dr. Savard is currently teaching in the Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Sciences at UVM and working on her research using video modeling and motor learning strategies. She loves to work on her family farm along her husband and their 4 children or go hiking and kayaking to explore the natural beauty of New England.
