This practicum/lab course will teach you the various characteristics of cardiac and pulmonary sounds: frequency, intensity, duration, and quality and their meanings. You will learn to describe adventitious sounds and what diagnoses they might indicate, classify valvular sounds heard with auscultation, and discuss the mechanisms and sounds heard in Aortic Stenosis and mitral regurgitation, which are commonly seen in the ICU and acute care setting and their implications.
