June Smith
June Smith OTR/L, a dynamic and engaging instructor, is an Occupational Therapist and licensed Brain Gym Instructor. She has certifications in Sensory Integration, SIPT and Neurodevelopmental Treatment. She brings a wealth of experience from varied settings including her previous position as Supervisor of OT Services at a residential/day program with adults/children with developmental challenges and as a clinician/mentor at South Shore Therapies SI clinic. June has more than thirty-five years of experience in the field of O.T. working with individuals who present with a variety of physical, cognitive and behavioral challenges that impact learning. She is certified to teach both basic and advanced courses entitled Brain Gym® for children who have Special Needs. She has presented at International Brain Gym® conferences, is a member of the Educational Kinesiology Foundation and has a presentation at the 2017 AOTA National convention. In addition, June also works closely with Developmental Optometrists, and collaboratively established a vision clinic to promote visual efficiency.
Agnes McConlogue
Agnes McConlogue, MAPT, PCS is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Stony Brook University. She maintains an active clinical practice in both the private and school-based settings. Agnes is published in the area of goal assessment and continues research on this topic looking at goal-setting, intervention and goal attainment.
Lori Quinn
Lori Quinn, EdD, PT received her doctorate in motor learning from Teachers College, Columbia University, and has held faculty and research positions at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY and at Cardiff University in Cardiff, UK. She specializes in adult and pediatric neurological rehabilitation including school-based and early intervention evaluations and interventions. Dr. Quinn is co-author of the textbook Documentation for Rehabilitation: A Guide to Clinical Decision-Making.
Sara Harvey
Sara Harvey, MS, PT graduated from Boston University with a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy. She participated in a DOE Program at the Shriver Center designed to support the work of therapists in school systems. After graduation she worked in Acute Care, Cardiac Rehabilitation, and helped develop a Lymphedema Care program for a large New England hospital. After moving to the Pioneer Valley in Massachusetts Sara explored Sub-Acute Care Administration, Admissions and Marketing, before returning to her passion, School-Based Physical Therapy. In the Northampton School System, Sara works with all school staff and students from Preschool through High School and helps support her students though their transition to adult programs. She has received her Districts' Special Education Parent Advisory Council Annual Award for her contribution to student success in the school system.
Debra Dickson
An accomplished lecturer, Debra Dickson is a pediatric physical therapist, owner of Therapy Works Pediatrics LLC in CT and creator of the clinically acclaimed BEAR HUG vest. Ms. Dickson is NDT certified in pediatrics and has a strong background in sensory processing, nutrition and immune function as they relate to children with developmental disabilities. Together with Anne Buckley-Reen, she developed a program for therapists entitled The Whole Child: S.A.N.E. Strategies for Success. They are currently co-authoring The Whole Child Handbook, which incorporates a multisystem approach to understanding developmental disorders and successful strategies for improving function. Ms. Dickson lectures both locally and nationally and sits on the professional advisory committees of several nonprofit agencies.
Peg Dawson
Peg Dawson, Ed.D., NCSP, received her doctorate in school/child clinical psychology from the University of Virginia. She worked as a school psychologist for 16 years in Maine and New Hampshire, and since 1992 has worked at the Center for Learning and Attention Disorders in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where she specializes in the assessment of children and adults with learning and attention disorders. She has many years of organizational experience at the state, national, and international level, and served in many capacities, including president, of the New Hampshire Association of School Psychologists, the National Association of School Psychologists, and the International School Psychology Association. She is the author of numerous articles and book chapters on a variety of topics, including retention, ability grouping, reading disorders, attention disorders, the sleep problems of adolescents, the use of interviews in the assessment process, and homework. Along with her colleague, Dr. Richard Guare, she has written several books for parents and professionals on the topic of executive skills, including Smart but Scattered and Smart but Scattered Teens. Peg is the 2006 recipient of the National Association of School Psychologists’ Lifetime Achievement Award.
Cathy Stern
Cathy Stern, OD, FCSO, FCOVD, FNORA provides developmental, behavioral and neuro-optometric rehabilitation in private practice and as a consultant at the Massachusetts Hospital School. Dr. Stern is known for "treating the visual side of learning."
Donna McCrorey
Donna McCrorey, OTR/L is an occupational therapist at the Massachusetts Hospital School where she specializes in the care of children with multiple disabilities including: cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, head injuries and other rare genetic conditions. She collaborates with Dr. Stern to provide services to children needing visual rehabilitation.
