Evidence-based Approaches during the COVID-19 Era
In support of all our valued school-based therapists we are offering you this online session at no cost
This session, recorded live at the popular Therapies in the School conference 2020, will highlight current, trauma-informed treatment practices for professionals working with children and youth in the schools, either remote or in-person, considering the COVID-19 pandemic context. Participants will be empowered to implement trauma-informed strategies with all students, in multi-tiered interventions, across times of remote instruction or in-person sessions.
Objectives:
1. Understand trauma, trauma-informed care models, and the importance of “regulate, relate and reason” in working with at-risk children and youth in the schools.
2. Be equipped with evidence-based programs and interventions for carry-over into the virtual or in-person context for children across all experiences, and with or without disabilities in school-based, team-collaborative models.
3. Approach school-based practice, within the COVID-19 context, with a lens of trauma-informed care, in evaluation, intervention, and discharge planning within multi-tiered support systems
“The content in this course is essential for all educators working with children. Especially with the challenges families have faced during COVID-19”. Crystal Zehm, SLP
